Under this partnership, UL's service portfolio will expand in the near future to cover all energy efficiency requirements in North America, including DOE and EPA Energy Star services for the United States, led high bay light and Energy Star services for Canada, future NEMA premium programs in the United States, and CEC California Title 20 and Title 24.Underwriters Laboratories is an independent product safety certification organization that has been testing products and writing Standards for Safety for over a century. UL evaluates more than 19,000 types of products, components, materials and systems annually with 20 billion UL Marks appearing on 72,000 manufacturers' products each year. UL's worldwide family of companies and network of service providers includes 64 laboratory, testing and certification facilities serving customers in 98 countries.
Luminaire Testing Laboratory, Inc., located in Allentown, Pa., is an independent source of photometric test reports for the lighting industry. In addition to producing Roadway, Floodlight, and Indoor Photometric Test Reports, LTL also performs ballast characteristic testing, electrical system testing, mining vehicle luminaire testing, and absolute photometric testing. LTL uses two computer controlled, Type C, swinging mirror goniophotometers and a two-meter integrating sphere to test luminaires. Test reports conform to Illuminating Engineering Society of North America standards. The two LED drivers were among several products Toshiba launched yesterday for expanding its Mobile Strategic Initiative, a product and customer support program aimed to facilitate ease of design for new mobile phones and other portable devices. The new LED drivers are suitable to drive LEDs in applications such as LED camera flashes and strobes or for backlighting in cellular phones, personal digital assistants (PDA), digital still cameras (DSC) and other mobile products.
The two drivers, led high bay light, both feature operating efficiency of 80% in flash mode under a supply voltage ranging from 2.8V to 5.5V, with only one external inductor needed to keep the current flow constant even under falling battery voltages. A soft-start function is featured by both devices to prevent power overshoots when switching between shutdown mode and flash/light mode. The devices are also equipped with over-voltage protection and a temperature shutdown function to protect both the LED drivers and the display from error conditions. Additionally, the TB62750FTG has one additional integrated constant current driver for a red LED light.
