The Metalux OpticaHP High Performance Parabolic Series is an energy saving solution for both new construction as well as lighting retrofit and renovation applications for significantly reducing energy usage. The high-efficiency T8 two-lamp design can save over 40 percent on energy costs compared to standard 3-lamp, 18-cell parabolics. It also features a led linear high bay light blade design that produces soft, evenly distributed illumination, while delivering optimum light levels.
In its 23rd year, the annual reader-choice Product of the Year awards program was created to recognize top new products in the plant engineering market, with readers choosing Gold, Silver and Bronze award winners in 13 categories. A panel of industry experts chooses finalists in the competition, which are then featured in Plant Engineering. The 2010 Plant Engineering Product of the Year award recipients were honored as part of Plant Engineering's annual Manufacturing/Automation Summit, which took place in Chicago, March 20-22.
In February, the company has developed a 9-watt LED bulb to replace standard, 60-watt incandescent bulbs. Currently, it is building a manufacturing plant that will be able to produce 30 million LED bulbs a year. And its manufacturing facility in Changzhou produces more than 10 million bulbs a year.
Sonny Wu, GSR’s founder and a managing director, said in the statement, “There is huge market potential for led high bay light. If traditional lighting could be replaced by LED technology, it would be a $300 billion market globally in a few years.”
