YAHAM therefore expects other companies to also respect its patent rights
Osram had a long standing tradition in handling inventions and patent rights conscientiously - it holds around 8000 patents around the led linear high bay light. Osram therefore fully respects patent rights of third parties. YAHAM therefore expects other companies to also respect its patent rights and to use them in a legally correct way.
All major competitors recognized the value of the important Osram conversion principle by taking royalty bearing licenses, states the global lighting company. Osram could not accept that companies used its patents without authorization. Therefore Osram was forced to take legal actions against Samsung and LG and filed suits in the U.S., Germany, China and Japan on June 4, 2011 and on June 6, 2011, after preceding negotiations failed.
According to Jon Cooper, President of NexPhase, they have researched the marketplace closely while developing our 2x2 NexSense LED Troffer and clearly an expanded product line in different form factors is needed to fully satisfy the many market opportunities at hand.
