Qnuru’s distribution partner, SoGoGreen, upgraded 85 of Emich VW’s exterior and interior high wattage lights with Qnuru’s Vector line of LED retrofit bulbs. Vector LED retrofit lights are designed for customers who want to preserve and reuse their existing lighting poles and housings by replacing inefficient high intensity discharge (HID) lamps with energy efficient LED bulbs. The 750-1000 watt HID lamps in Emich VW’s parking lot lights were retrofitted with Vector 131-161 watt LED bulbs. In addition, the dealership’s outdoor wallpack, pathway and flood lights were upgraded with Qnuru LED bulbs. Inside the dealership’s service and paint bays, 400 watt ceiling-mounted high bay light fixtures were retrofitted with 102 watt Vector LED bulbs. The Qnuru LED retrofit project reduced Emich VW’s lighting energy use by nearly 80% and the dealership will earn a return on its investment in approximately 18 months based on energy savings from its LED lights and conservation rebates offered by Xcel Energy and the City and County of Denver.

“Our accountant said we would be crazy not to switch to LED lighting based on the operating cost savings alone,” said Fred Emich, partner and operator of Emich VW. “But our motivation for upgrading to LED technology was not just financial. Boston and Los Angeles have installed LED lights

So far, the town has installed about 200 light fixtures. The switch is expected to save about $225,000 a year or $2.2 million over the fixtures' 10-year life.The Long Island Power Authority said LED streetlights can use 50 to 70 percent less energy and last three to five times longer than high-pressure sodium lamps.

Additionally, Boston and Los Angeles have installed LED lights and other communities have plans to make the change.Apart from Long Island, some towns are converting to induction lights, which are similar to fluorescent lights and also cost less to use than traditional lighting.

Philips cooperates with the Rijkswaterstaat (RWS - the Dutch highway authority), contractors Gebroeders Van der Lee and LED Linear high bay light consultants Spectrum, has installed LED lighting along a 7km-length of the A44, one of the busy highways of Amsterdam.

TYNTEK's Optical Center designed the reflector which creates relatively sharp horizontal cutoff line. This is the first operating plant in China to produce ultra high-purity Ammonia and will supply customers using world leading technology in purification, packaging and analytical metrology. Linde LienHwa (LLH) is a joint venture between The Linde Group and LienHwa MiTAC Group of Taiwan.

The plant, which has a capacity of 500 tonnes per year, produces high-purity Ammonia at led high bay light, helping to increase the supply reliability to customer sites and reduce customers’ manufacturing costs. It is also capable of filling various package sizes, including ISO containers. Based on the plant’s patented technology, Linde is able to further benefit its clients by establishing an on-site purification system if an extra high volume of ultra high-purity Ammonia is required, as is often the case in the LED industry.

According to a company representative, LED Linear high bay light Sylvania intends to make a brighter LED which would give off as much light as a 75-watt incandescent which will be available in 2011.In addition to making brighter lights, manufacturers are seeking to ramp up the volume of LED bulb production to lower the price of general-purpose LED bulbs.

According to the company’s president, K.C. Chen, half of the money will be spent on the initial stage building in Kunshan facility, and the left funds will be used to build factories in several cities to assemble the lights.

First-stage construction will start in Q1 of 2011 and second-stage constructions will go through three to five years.

It’s reported that Kunshan facility is designed to be the company’s flagship factory in the project, equipped with led high bay light, design and manufacturing capabilities. It will be used to develop and manufacture lighting fixtures with great market potential and reflector design.

AIXTRON announced an order for six 31x2-inch configuration CRIUS? deposition systems from new customer United LED Shan Dong Corporation (ULED). After successful installation and commissioning of the systems in LED Linear high bay light dedicated new production plant in the third quarter of 2010, they will be used for the production of GaN LEDs for back-lighting units (BLU) and general lighting applications.

BLU designs accounted on about half of the LED

The company said, recently, the 40-inch or larger products, and dual-side (top and bottom) BLU designs accounted on about half of the LED TV market. In 2011, more and more models with left and right led high bay designs and single-side technology would be the key to reducing cost. Rambus expected a 20% market penetration of LED-backlit LCD TVs in 2010, and believed it could reach 50%, if prices fell within 10% of CCFL models.

Using single-side designs (bottom), Rambus expected 46-inch LED TVs in 2011 would use 172 LEDs, down from 240 in 2010 and further drop to 142 in 2012. The 55-inch LED TV would use single-side edge-type models of this size by mid-2011.

For the lighting sector, the company expected to further expand LED lighting market. In December 2009, Rambus acquired the optical electronics team and patents for MicroLens from Global Lighting Technologies (GLT) for US$26 million.Recently, both Rambus and GE Lighting signed a licensing led high bay light agreement for the use of Rambus' lighting patents, including its product reference designs and manufacturing process. Both of them initial focus would be to create a flat-panel LED lighting system for architectural and commercial lighting for global markets. Quantity production was scheduled for 2011.
