we have begun offering limited samples of an S2 flux bin

This establishes a new level of performance for LEDs,” said Paul Thieken, Cree director of marketing, LED components. “We now deliver lighting-class efficacy at 1A drive current. In addition, we have begun offering limited samples of an S2 flux bin, providing up to 400 lumens at 1A. We target availability of XP-G neutral and warm white LED samples by end of calendar 2009.”

XP-G LEDs extend the leadership of Cree’s lighting-class LED family, giving lighting designers a wide range of price and performance options that all share a common package footprint. The cool white XP-G LED is available now with order codes up to 139 lumens minimum at 350 mA and led high bay light cool white bins (5000K – 8300K CCT) through the Cree distribution network.

The products of Havells Sylvania using P4 series are characterized by their innovative design, taking the form of sports stadium light. Two kinds of products are released, including Stadium PRO and Stadium EVO, spotlights with a high color rendering index(RA=93). Stadium PRO has been specifically designed for use within museums and galleries with an onboard dimmer system, long life time(50,000hrs), and no IR or UV, while ‘Stadium EVO is ideal for retail applications.

LED P4 series delivered to Havells Sylvania are respectively W42180 (Pure White), S42180 (Natural White), N42180 (Warm White) and 16 pieces are applied to each module. Combined with Seoul Semiconductor’s own phosphor technology, Z-Power LED P4 series have a higher luminous efficacy and reliability with improved brightness, and these products boast the world’s best luminous efficiency with one chip. They can be applied not only to general lighting fixtures but also to other various areas such as architecture lighting, decoration lighting, flashlights as well as cars.

Makers are hoping the cancellation of licensing duties in coming months

Thanks to lower outlay resulting from fast advancements in solid-state lighting, prices are already down 10 to 20 percent from 2008 levels. With the imminent lapsing of patents, quotes are forecast to decrease at least 10 percent.

LED bulb and tube suppliers said competitively priced products will help improve market uptake. This is crucial especially now that the US and the EU have started banning or limiting the use of light sources with high power consumption such as incandescent bulbs. At present, designs are about 10 times more expensive than halogen versions, with wattage contributing heavily in determining prices. Most end-users therefore tend to choose the latter even though LED lamps are more energy efficient and have a longer service life.

Makers are hoping the cancellation of licensing duties in coming months and the subsequent reduction in prices will change this situation and hasten product acceptance.

LED lighting solutions to businesses, municipalities and educational facilities. As part of the agreement, Visible Light Solar will utilize IES’s vast network of professional electricians and technicians to help customers dramatically reduce their lighting energy expenses, maintenance costs and carbon footprint.

Visible Light Solar is the first commercial and led high bay light company to fully integrate LED lighting devices, solar power technology and advanced power management systems in exterior and interior lighting fixtures. The company’s broad line of solar/LED lighting applications operate up to 85 percent more efficiently than their standard counterparts. In addition to dramatically lowering energy consumption, Visible Light Solar’s LED solutions reduce ongoing maintenance costs through much longer lifetime expectancy than HID bulbs (five to 10 years versus one year for most HID bulbs). The bulbs are also resistant to thermal and vibrational shocks, and because they do not contain toxic materials like mercury, or require ballasts that often contain PCBs, they are more environmentally sustainable.

The LED backlight technology delivers a low power consumption

In addition, the new LED backlit LCD TV delivers an energy efficient, eco-friendly performance with an impressive reduction in energy consumption compared to conventional LCD TVs. The LED backlight technology delivers a low power consumption of 139W, producing less heat generation and boasting a backlight life of 100,000 hours and a six-star energy rating.

Sharp says that using its new X-Gen Panel with advanced pixel control, light leakage is minimized and more light is allowed to pass through for higher peak brightness. Excellent color reproduction is also generated by a 1080/24P signal used for reproducing film frame rates as experienced in the cinema. It also comes with a Fine Motion Advanced Technology for 100/120Hz frame rate conversion and a fast pixel response time of 4ms.

Equipped with a large-size LED package that measures approximately 15 x 15mm, the natural white type and the warm white type feature total fluxes of 810lm and 600lm, respectively. Power consumption of both LED light bulbs is 8.7V. And the luminous efficiency of the natural white type is 93lm/W, which is higher than those of any other similar products announced so far.
